- I am the Executive Counsel/Executive Assistant for Policy and Program Review for the Rhode Island Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner. I am also an adjunct professor at the Roger Williams School of Law. Previously I worked for the Office of the General Counsel of the US Department of Health and Human Services and was in private practice with the law firm of Day, Berry and Howard (now Day Pitney). My JD and MA (Government) are from the University of Texas at Austin. My BA (Philosophy) is from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. My book, which was co-authored with Rodney A. Johnson, _Medicare, Medicaid, and Insolvency Handbook: Jurisdiction, Payment, and Enforcement_ was published by the American Health Lawyers Association in 2006. I have a forthcoming article on the readability of health insurance policies in the Roger Williams Law Review, special edition on health policy and health reform.
